Since no one seems to have posted officially on it, I thought I might as well. A Discord community was started—seemingly by the Broodwar Subreddit—to get people together to discuss and play Brood War UMS maps. There's already quite a number of people in it and there's active enough discussion.

Discord is a text and voice chat that supports multiple rooms for each and moderation options. You don't need to register or download a client to use it, so it's pretty accessible. If you want to learn more, visit their website.
