Units targeting buildings, how?

As for the people reading this, i know i suck at starcraft mapping.
Well, my problem is this:
Well, my map is a helms deep map (lotr).
Its a survival map, every 30 secs. a new horde of uruk hai attack helms deep.
There are two main "gates". the "wall" and the "gate..."
What i do is:
(in slang)
switch 1 is set
create 30 uruk for p 5 in spawn1
order any uruk at spawn 1 to attack to "wall" (location)
clear switch 1

The problem is, when the uruk hai reach the wall they dont attack the buildings which, if u see in the pic. below, dont let the uruk hai enter helms deep. All they do is act crazy while the guys in the top of the wall shoot them

WHY?

does the computer /player controlling the uruk-hai have the other players set to enemies? if not, make an always/preserve trigger that sets the alliances

Also, use patrol instead of attack, and patrol to a location behind the wall or something. It works better, the units will attack much more often.

The problem I believe you are having is that your units decide to attack the enemies units instead of their buildings when attacked. It's just a basic SC AI, and there is no perfect way to stop them from attempting to defend themselves.

It looks like the Red player controls the units on the structure terrain as well as the 'wall'
Give the 'wall' to a player 9 or 10. Then make triggers that make the attacking units are allied to the defending units (so they'll ignore them and attack the wall). After the wall is destroyed, make the attacking units unally the defending units.

Thigh high affectionado

You could always use Neutral siege tanks instead of Supply depots. They WILL target those first >:P

Sure I didn't pop off on SCBW like I wanted to, but I won VRChat. Map maker for life.

There is an AI Script like Make this Area more valuable. Or something like that. If you use that alot on the section of walls, then they may attack that over the units, presuming that you also use random suicide...

No, it will just make them value that area, and since units are able to attack at that area, they will still attack those units, it's just a basic AI.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
