String issue

Hey guys.

Can anyone explain this message I got in SCMDraft 2 please ?

It happened after I finished working on triggers in the Trigger Editor.

And now, it appears everytime it checks the strings... I checked the string limits and for the moment I haven't reached any. Also checked the string that appears in the message and I don't see anything unusual with it.

How should I fix this error ? What could be wrong ?

None.

It's just a generic string corruption message; there could be a number of things wrong. I'd try going to the string editor and deleting the string, and then going back to where you were using it and add it again.

Usually I load a backup, if you can't, try saving a backup, open it with CHKDraft, go to text trigs and hit compile and save, it should remove any corruption from the string table.

By the way, jjf28,

What do you mean exactly by "it should remove any corruption from the string table" ? Could any data be lost ?

None.

It means it will read in all the strings that are currently in use just as starcraft would (with the exception of the last string which will be forcibly NUL terminated), then rebuilds the string table with perfect formatting.

You've already lost data or you haven't through corruption, this will not remove anything more (unless you have strings that aren't used anywhere in the map, these may be removed). It's also possible I got something wrong with text trigs (which is why I recommend a backup), though I've been incredibly thorough to the point that I think it's much better than SCMDraft's.

It's possible that the string corruption (poor word for it, it's really just a program dealing with unfamiliar data poorly in most cases) is rooted outside your triggers/strings, like a bad string number for a location, in which case i'd need the map or you'd need a program directly purposed to remove string corruption to nail it down.

Ok, thanks.

Well now that's strange... I made a copy of the map and was about to try on it everything you guys suggested. And oh, surprise : no more corruption and everything is back to normal... O_o

Plus, I've done nothing more on the map since I came here to ask for help.

Well... I guess I'll just get back to work.
