I have this problem...When i started creating an UMS map everything was fine, then i reached my unit limit (so i made it higher in options section) now i am at the end of my map, and this happens: i launch starcraft to test my map, and triggers are messed up because there are a lot of units missing in game. WTF???? with "black sheep wall" cheat i open fog and in 2 levels of my map there are almost no units (90% gone). Why does this happen [in options unit number is 10000, so i think it should work] Is it buged or if anyone has any ideas please help. Thank you!

P.S. Unit are not gone because of placement on terrain, and they are not stacked or whatsoever.

Starcraft itself has a unit&sprite limit ( about 1650), no matter what you set in staredit.

1700 is the actual unit limit I believe, the actual sprite limit is 499.

The unit limit is 1700, because of fixed LocalID RAM allocation, and the sprite limit is really complicated, but it's something in the thousands.

I mean, the basic sprite limit, like doodad sprites.

Use a spawning system instead and create the units when you actually need to use them.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
