Making a map for my 'clan' Would prefer to talk over skype for faster responses. ~~ Bsgunner Would also like help for the future ( Thinking of 'spells' and how to make them! ) Thanks!
I doubt hardly anyone here is going to talk to you over skype, so you should just post your questions here. There are a lot of people here who are good at map making, so if you post a question, you should get a reply relatively fast.

It's not one question. It's a series of questions that will take time to make and think of. Which is why I prefer skype.
However I still recommend that you post your questions here as the SEN Skype channel is not official and is meant for chatting and not for answering mapmaking questions. If everyone just went on Skype with his mapping questions we'd have no content to run a forum and all knowledge gained would be lost for future reference. This is especially true when you have lots of questions.
Seeking help in a chat is more suited for when you have a simple question and want it answered quickly.
- Many spell-casting systems are based off disruption web or dark swarm casts (simply center a location at wherever a swarm or dweb hits and do your effects/damage), keep in mind that these are always owned by player 12. - Spell-casting systems sometimes use Direct Damage Systems, or Virtual Hitpoints - An advanced targeting/spell-casting/selection system of my own: Navi Targeting
- It can be useful to know your direction direction-based collision detection, or there are EUD methods to get general directions - EUDs can be used for detecting just about anything when there isn't a condition already designated for it.

The Skype chat we use is for socializing purposes only, and I think the only people who would help are Azrael and Roy, but he could just post the questions here and get the same results.
I've been helping him on Skype extensively since he posted his first question a few weeks ago. For brainstorming spell ideas, it's probably better to do it in a public setting, so other mapmakers can benefit from the combined effort as well.
As for the results of the chat help being lost to other mapmakers, I'm also concerned about this; for the original thread regarding a tank ability, I'll post the triggers for the final system after it's completed. I've written out the triggers, but not in the language SCMDraft2 uses, so he's doing the actual implementation himself. It should probably be done in the near future.
For those interested, it should be noted that air units are sometimes present in the arena, so any abilities need to account for that.
But the Lurkers already do that, I assume, unless it's supposed to be added damage or something I guess. At first I thought it was just to add a death effect to the removal of the Lurkers, but since we see them for a moment I figured that wasn't the case.
Symmetry shouted: Man I wish we had this tech back in the day when people played ums lmao

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.
Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
