Zombie Survival: Uninhabited Space Station




Hey everyone. This is not a map I am making personally, this is a map made by my friend MaPMaKeR @ USEast on Brood War. You essentially have to survive on an uninhabited space station a lot like any other zombie survival map. But this one is more like a shooter game than having to click a + left click on a target like in SC1. There is a feature for the scope that makes it 1st person as well.

Storyline:

You are being dropped off on a deserted space station. Your mission (if you choose to accept it) is to erradicate the "zombies" from the space station. Survive as many rounds as you can, until you ultimately die. Be aware that you have ammo and the rounds slowly increase in difficulty. You gain money for kills so that you can buy upgrades. You can also get other weapons/items that are dropped from when you kill zombies.

Woah

As nice as it is to advertise your friend's map, we typically only allow threads to be made by the mapmakers themselves. Because of that, I'm closing this and will gladly reopen it if he wants to join SEN, have the thread transferred to him, and see any resulting questions/comments/praise that could follow.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.
