Basically i finally found my old starcraft 1 and brood war discs and found out they are both scratched beyond repair... How do I obtain a new copy of starcraft... If not then what would be my best option; I've listed some suggestions people have made.

-Clean the Cd (worked somewhat but still doesn't work)
-Buy the digital copy
-Buy starcraft 2 collector edition
-Find it in the store (its harder then you think :hurr:)

Woah

You don't need to buy it again if you still have the CD key, as far as I know. Create or log into a Battle.net account and just add your key to it. Then you can download it again without having to pay again.

Don't they replace broken CDs free of charge?

Blizzard does nothing free of charge these days.

Does any company ever replace broken products free of charge after YOU broke it?

None.

This. If you don't know your CD key, there's software out there that can extract it from your current SC install.

If, for some reason, you can't do the above, either download a "portable" version of SC (these typically don't require that you have a CD) or try and get your hands on a disk image for the CD.

Sure it's pretty common among software companies to replace broken discs out of goodwill. You bought a license to use the software and not the data carrier which is only a few ct. I'm just not sure if Blizzard is still that awesome. Can't hurt to ask at least.

EDIT:
Here you go (for WoW at least but I'm sure the terms aren't different for sc)

All you have to pay is $10 for shipping and handling.

ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Just go on battle.net and register your cd key under your account (like what devlin said). It's the easiest and most logical thing to do. If you don't have your cd key, then I don't even know why you're trying to "repair" the discs.

FYI, those disc repair things with toothpaste and peanut butter are complete bullshit.

Vrael shouted: wasnt even that really, they 6000 apm just made the terran army so much more value/$ that the extra economy didnt matter
Well yes and no. The apm made him win the battle, but I'm not convinced a pro player can't account for that. He got caught with his pants down so it's not really representative of a prepared player. And the extra economy absolutely would've mattered if that push didn't almost immediately end the game.

NudeRaider shouted: Oh_Man nothing too special tbh. the human player wasn't ready to combat the push that stretched almost the whole map. So this game means nothing. We'll have to see how it goes once the humans have adjusted for its unorthodox strategies.
they basically lost most of their army in one big battle and didn't have the time and production to leverage the economic advantage and come back from that blow.

not sure why you are so hyped, when basically the same happened 7 years ago with AlphaStar on SC2.
