Need help with SCMDraft (Minerals + Gas not showing up)

..since there isn't a help forum for melee maps. But in SCMDraft, I'll make a map, and the geysers and minerals belong to neutral player and everything, but when I play it in BW, there are no minerals or geysers to be found. Help would be appreciated greatly. Also, I want to stack them, and am attempting to, if that is the problem.. but then why aren't the geysers appearing?

If this is the wrong forum please move this thread appropriately, moderators.. and sorry.

Ok, I'm getting them to appear, randomly it seems though. They're made for player 12, neutral, and each is stacked about 10 times.. They've consistently appeared at the base I get, but pretty much at random for the other bases. And yes, stack is allowed and 'require mineral distance' is off so I can put the base right up against them. I think I'm going to just try to copy/paste the mineral/geyser configuration out of one of the fastest maps I've played and see if that works. Also, what forum should I have posted this is in? It appears there is no forum for general mapmaking questions ?

Copy/pasting the money configuration from a fastest map worked, kind of. Minerals and gas appeared in every base where they're supposed to be, except I could only morph extractors inbetween where the green outline showed after selecting a drone to morph said extractor. Weird.. And on two of the bases, only 1 of the 2 mineral stacks showed up. Frustrating..

Care to attach the map so we can see what exactly it is you're having trouble with? Sounds to me like it should work.

Dungeon Master

You may have too many mineral patches. If you stack too many, you'll hit the unit limit :P

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings
