Computer Repair Buildings

Basically, in my map, I want a couple of SCVs (owned by the computer) to repair a couple of bunkers that are getting attacked. I'm just not sure what the correct AI script would be for it.

If it matters, I have all buildings and units 'Disabled by default' so that a trigger won't cause a computer to create units.

From maplantis.org :

"An SCV may repair damage to a Terran mechanical unit or Terran building for part of the unit's base resource costs and time costs.
Computer Use:
The computer will repair his damaged units when a melee AI Script is running.
They won't repair allied units, hero units, or SCVs."

Which means: you can't force a direct order to repair a specific unit at location X(unfortunetly, this would make map making much better =). Experiment with the few AI's given, maybe some of them work the way you want them to? For example, right after firing the AI the SCV will repair the unit.

In Storm the Fort they use the AI "Terran 1 - Shareware" And that seems to make them mine minerals, repair any nearby injured mechs and bunkers, and basically just do SCV stuff.

Awesome, that's pretty much what I was lookin' for. Right now I've been running one of the "Custom Level" AI's for Terran, and those don't work. I was just trying to remember if there was one of the scripts where all they do is mine minerals and repair buildings. But yea, I'll give that Terran 1 - Shareware AI a try.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.
