This was my last completed SC1 Map before I left the scene, recently found it and decided to upload it for anyone still playing SC1.

Turn Defense is a unique take on defense maps.

You've got to manage resource collection, combat timing and unit combination.

This is a 1-4 player map, but difficulty increases the less players you have.

Make sure to read the map briefing to better understand the gameplay mechanics.

Thinking about porting this over to SC2. Let me know what you think!

Okay, I gave this map a whirl

I have to say that the resource management part of the game doesn't really work for me.
I think that Minerals = vision represents a very bothersome number that players are forced to pay attention to.
it doesn't integrate well enough into the game.

Resource management is already present in the simple 1) Spend more money to build more defense or 2) Spend more money to gain more money strategy.. I think that's much more compelling that messing around with the vision...

One way you Could create a dichotomy in resources without it affecting the gamepaly too much is make Upgrades base on minerals, and Units base on Gas. Also, make it so that Minerals and Gas are interchangable with a cost.. (i.e. it is more costly to change the minerals into gas, rather than just use the resources to just mine the gas)

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically
