Title give off what I need. An intercepter to listen to a order, fly where I want it, and dissaper when it hits the target location.

Im using it for a super awesome uber leet sniper in mah Zombie map.

I've not played NFL Blitz, but typically interceptors are controlled using the Set Generic Command Point and Make These Units Patrol (To Command Target) AI-at-location scripts. In order to acknowledge these AI scripts, the interceptor must belong to a computer player (that's why Aerial Combat, Particle Arena, and other maps of that sort are always 4-player).

Could you explain the trigger that would make a intercepter move from the carrier attacking the supply depot, then moves DIRECTLY to a location, without wanting to return to its respective carrier?

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Make the Carrier (belonging to comp) attack something so you got flying interceptors.
Then use a trigger that teleports them to the starting location (uber leet sniper).
Then execute ai script set generic command point to the target (super pitiful loser enemy).
Then execute ai script make these units patrol.

Well I don't know your exact mistake, but maybe because carrier was too near.

I added a loc around Carrier and modified the patrol trigger a little.
Rest is eye candy.

There are two interceptor tests in my Tests Compilation, one shows how to control it by simply moving it, the other shows by ordering it.

It can be found here:

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.
