Alright I'm trying to make a trigger that plays music over and over, but I have wait triggers that conflict with the looping of the music. Is there any way you guys know of to do music triggers that loop consistantly and don't create wait blocks?

Any help is appreciated as always.
Thanks.

You would need hypertriggers and replace the wait with a death counter:

Always -> Subtract 1 death of MUSIC DC for Current Player

Current Player has suffered at most 0 deaths of MUSIC DC ->
Set MUSIC DC of Current Player to x
Play wav

x is the number of seconds the song playes (realtime) x12
=> 60s song -> x = 720

If you don't have hypertriggers, I believe it'll subtract 1 death about every two seconds.

Isn't it 1 death every second without hyper triggers? The triggers run once a second without hyper triggers so that probably makes more sense.

Except they don't. They supposedly run once every two seconds.

Triggers are checked every 2 game seconds, which is about 1,5s realtime on speed 7. PERIOD

Why you ppl always have to post wrong info you even not sure about?!
Like "I have no clue, but I will post a random guess (because it sounds good)" -gj man...
Btw. it would be easy to make a map with a countdown timer and add 1 mins per trigger loop to verify.

PLS DONT POST IF YOU ARE NOT SURE...
thats not helping, thats just confusing.

I would like to thank NudeRaider, I got it to work, I just have to replace some other triggers with waits to make it wait block free.

My bad man, just there's not much percieved discrepancy between 1.5s and 1s when a trigger runs once a cycle. Sorry I was wrong.

The timing is kinda wierd I had to play with it, I have a 13 second sound clip and I use 9deaths, that seems to make it loop the best.

Yeah, since its about 1.5 seconds without hypers (which you don't have), 9*1.5=13.5, which is about the time of your sound clip.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.
