i was just wondering if anybody had a tutorial or reference to all the extended units because when i placed a unit for player 20, the graphics inside starcraft warped and it seemed pretty cool to some extent, has anybody encountered this or is there a report about this.
and if there is a report, does anybody know how the new terrain is calculated and is there a reference to use the new warped terrain, it looks like a sci-fi environment

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

P15 stuff can change the speed (interceptor, scarab, map revealer are the common units to do this),
P20 does something with the graphics like you noticed (someone used a beacon many years ago, I've read about it),
P157 - P255 can modify supply related values like shown in the stickied wiki article (Modifying Supply Limits).

Units placed before the P15 scarab will be frozen and run no animations (protoss shield effects are drawn but aren't played [blue stuff stays] and they are selectable through the fog, provide no vision and use supply).

That's all I can remember right know.

Remember that because extended units (and units for some extended players) are technically just buffer overflows, their effects are entirely dependent on the StarCraft patch version that the user is using. The effects should also be inconsistent between Windows and Mac.

EDIT: Which is why there's no reference. Even ignoring the patch part, there are huge numbers of player/unit combinations, and the number of tests needed doubles when you add Macs to the equation.

ᴄʜᴇᴇsᴇ ɪᴛ!

it might be possible to map at least SOME of the stuff, but I don't know enough about the extended players to do so (that's how farty or whoever figured out about the extended supply).

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Hm, nice, I've seen the garbled graphics and didn't like it, but I didn't know you could get rid of it ingame! This is kinda cool because you could make a prologue or something to an RPG map where your character is dreaming at first, or something. I'd really like someone actually using that! :D

when I try to play with my friends, many of them crash, when I try to replace the unit, I crash but some of my friends don't crash. how to control this so nobody crashes or any theories/suggestions on how to fix. When it works for me, I can play the map multiple times in a row without crashing but others will still crash. When i try to fix for my friends, i move the unit and i am unable to play but they are.

We once tested all 255 players and thousands of extended units... in both Starcraft AND Staredit.
Unfourtinately all such data doesn't apply anymore. It was fun though.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
