There's no guarantee that a cheap stock will go up. Buying ten shares of a one dollar stock is the same as buying one ten dollar stock, all things equal.
If all things were equal, the stocks would cost the same.

I still have no idea what I want to do with my life, so not much help there. Maybe Teaching/Journalism/Political Science, but stay away from Computer Science.
