Salutation,

I am LandR, 23 years old, working in my father's shop. I live in the city of Diégo Suarez, it's in a not so small island called Madagascar where there are Lemurs and slow internet :-).
I have been playing Starcraft and editing for a while but nearly never posted a map because of lack of time or loss of interest. But recently, I have heard about EUD conditions and all possibilities you could do using them, so my interest in editing has risen again.

This is the second time I register myself in a forum. The first was Aerie's Guard, a french forum, you can "google search" for it if you are curious.
I don't usually speak/write english, then I am sorry if sometimes I don't make myself clear.

Coming back soon for you, by now I have works to do.

Welcome to SEN!

It's EUD conditions :P not UED.

The sword and the faith

I'm not sure if SEN has had anyone from Madagascar before. Welcome.

@Jack[RCDF: Yes, you are right. And UED sounds like United Earth Directorate.

It seems I am the first malagasy (people from Madagascar are called malagasy) to join StarEdit Network.

Yes; the thing you meant to refer to, though, is Extended Unit Deaths.

Also, welcome to SEN. Hope you have a good time here. :)

Well, I am back after some time and glad to be able to logon again.
I had troubles connecting myself the last week, each time the following message appeared when I tried to log on: MySQL server has gone away.
I have the complete message but I wonder if it is now useful to post it in the appropriate section because it seems the problem is already cleared.

@ payne : so you are a french native speaker ! I advice you to go to Aerie's Guard Forum and make a nouveau compte ! :)
Le forum d'Aerie's Guard n'est peut-être pas trop actif, mais ces membres sont sympathiques et intéressant.
And I will ask you for french/english translation when in need, thanks.

Welcome (back) to SEN. :D

Don't worry about the MySQL server, Devourer the mods are trying to fix that problem.

Je parle un peu français, parce que j'ai étudié pendant deux ans.

Thanks to all of you for the good greeting.

@LoTu)S: are there more people talking french here than I think ?

Greetings! How did you find about SEN anyway, just curious?

The MySQL errors are still occurring and are a pretty bad problem. Sorry 'bout that.

Hopefully you will learn to love SEN (and learn good English at the same time!)!

As far as I know, i don't know anyone here that can speak French other than Payne. Even though we're a diverse community, i rarely see anyone that can speak French. I know french because i take classes, but that's about it.

@TiKels: I was googling internet about new way to do special stuff on Starcraft, then I found SEN and some of its tutorials about Extended Unit Death.
I don't have the login error anymore, it is like everything has been repaired.

@LoTu)S: how do you find French ? Is it easy or difficult to learn ?

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings
[2026-6-20. : 6:15 pm]
Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.
[2026-6-20. : 3:47 pm]
NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.
[2026-6-20. : 3:43 pm]
NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
