An artist's depiction of an Extended Unit Death

Quote from SiberianTiger
if I remember correctly, Frost > You doesn't work on me. doesn't crash my sc. It used to. Not anymore. Guess why... hmmm???

Yes I can definitely make a video of this.
Me too, to all of that. I'm gonna guess that it's because "Frost > You" games hosted recently do not crash anyone. I haven't done anything differently, and I'm not crashing now.

Make a video of the hacker fellow that dedicates his time for you, and how he's doing hacky things when you don't take precautions. And then take your precautions and show how you're immune to his hacky things. In all honesty, that's what I really want to see.

Battle.net is a hack fest. If you really want a solution to battle.net 1.0, install brainclan or iccup and forget about public bnet.

BGHers now accept the fact that they all hack. As long as you don't drop everyone, map hacking is perfectly acceptable.

I was in a game with a few cobies and we talked about hacks and they go "it's perfectly fine if you don't drop us from the lobby".

Which is quite hilarious if you think about it. The entire USEast server is basically a hack.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
