Hello

Ya, so, as my last some SCBW maps been room maps (and I like rooms) I couldn't resist making a room concept for SC2... here you are:
http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/7351/screenshot2010080617134.jpg

Using a camera, locations and the best thing: no longer any fucking burrowed zerg units at the doors to check via lame "brings unit to location, move location to burrowed zling" triggers in scbw! OFFSETS or coordinates for the win :)
Map attached, have fun.

Relatively ancient and inactive

Seems somewhat... simplistic and not really worth sharing. Lol.

Yes, you can simulate a room by placing four walls. What of it? : /

Hello

you may be right, but still there is some more behind it: camera stats, how much coordinates to the right and left and so on.

Well, I found some inspiration/usefulness from it so maybe it was actually worth sharing? Because you were not personally able to find it useful, I don't see why you would say it's not worth sharing at all... kind of contradicting to a "Theory and Ideas" forum. Anyways, there were a lot of maps in SC1 (puzzle maps for the most part) that used this so hopefully some of those maps get ported over. From the screenshot I'm assuming you changed the camera tilt to 90 for a top down view?

Hello

Created a new camera, adjusted the settings as well as distance, set that camera to gaming camera, disable camera controls, added the move triggers with the right offset.

Or Merlin's Revenge: Starcraft II Edition. With four players, starting from different corners of the grid or something. :D

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
