:payne:

Why is the maximum of recipients of our PMs of 10?
It's not that much.
I'd suggest giving us a max of 20: it'd just make big things like contest/mafia games/clans/etc. talk easier to each other while still preventing massive spam. ;o

Hello

I might raise the max PM amount by tier.
Norm: 10
Reg: 20
Vet: 25
Elite: No Limit (probably 50 or such) :P

Please report errors in the Staredit.Network forum.

Does having the limit set to 1 prevent spambots from doing any harm? Or they can compose messages too quickly for that to matter?

As for the poll at hand, I don't care.

Hello

There is no by us coded "cooldown-time" of sending PMs. I bet IP mainly added this to avoid having a mega-super-ultra-query being run at once :P

Hello

Done
Quote from "SEN scoruce code :P"
//maxrec stands for the maximum amount of recipients. Norm = 10; reg = 15; vet = 20; eli = 25;

I'd stick with a limit, just to prevent someone from maliciously creating a new account and spamming everybody.

If you really do need to PM that many people just copy/paste the message, it's not much extra work, only several mouse clicks and that's about it.

:payne:

I'd personally go for:

Quote from no there are no errors
Norm - 10
Reg - 15
Vet - 25
Elite - 25

But anyways!

Woah

I think it's fine at 10/15/20/25. Time to go promote myself to Elite, I guess.

Pointless.
If I ever need to send a PM to 15+ recipients, I would just copy and paste the PM, make a whole new PM, sent it to 15 more recipients etc.

Woah

So what happens if someone from the first group you PM replies to everyone? The second group wouldn't see it.

It isn't pointless, it's just not necessary for things other than forum games.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
