Yeah, like sometime when I was fed as Soraka and had most of the kills. No one from that game was saying Soraka is OP. I remember some other game that I was able to solo anyone on the other team except not quite their Warwick sometime later in the game and it was still very close (just one more item would have tipped the balance in my favor, IIRC).

Basically how that happened was that if they didn't take me down quick, I'd heal to almost full life no matter how low I was. I had lots of AP.

Yeah, Soraka is the first champion that I really used when I first started playing. I prefer to play carries now though, especially carries that aren't squishy (Malphite ftw).

Nah homie, you must have been playing LoL within the last few months. Pantheon is really weak compared to how he used to be. He's one of the hardest and weakest to play. They nerfed him because people cried about how "strong" he was, yet they don't nerf other OP characters.

And that pantheon is me. Takes skills to get that much kills. I played several more games with pantheon after that one. Wasn't as good as that score because I actually died once in those games.

Panth is a really good noob stomp hero.

They actually cried since his HSS would do 100% bonus damage plus what was listed, resulting in huge amounts of damage, especially early game. If you had crit runes or ArP runes you could knock out half of someones health at level 2 with shield+HSS. He's definitely not the hardest champ to play, but he is up there. They did overnerf him, but that's all part of the balancing.

I've been playing Sivir, anyone know how to use her E spell better? I never time it right, should I do it right before someone runs up to me? Or after someone hits me with something, or what? Also sivir is quite squishy, especially without her R spell, anything I can do to help that other than just stay away from anyone powerful?

Sion is op as AP, and incrdibly op as DPS/Tank. I played a game where he can take at least 3 people on at a time. Plus he had Gaurdians, which makes it a lot worse.

Yeah, that is the thing about Panth, if you can kill him at least once early on, he can't get the full 20 stacks to do ridiculous damage.




I've heard that, but never seen anyone build him well enough to actually do it.

As Nasus, when I played with echo and whoever, it took the entire team a decent amount of time to kill me. Then again, I solo'd mid against heimer and outfarmed him massively.

Nasus is a godly tank, I've had many games against him where it took at least 3 team mates just to take him down. He does pretty good damage as well. I played WW for the first time yesterday, and well HE IS AMAZING . Occult + damage items + atk speed items == WIN.

It's just like a Banshee's Veil, it just blocks one spell, so use it before you get hit my a skill shot, or before a normal spell animation hits you. It doesn't block physical damage though, but will block physical spells such as Double Up and Parrrrley.

Yeah, his ult gives him so much life steal that he can just out heal whatever you do to him. Stacking Phantom Dancers on him is so annoying, since he gets AS, Crit, and Movespeed. He's actually one of the few champs that can solo Baron right now without being ridiculously fed (think it is Nasus, Sion, WW, Shaco, the Re-Worked PTR Eve right now. and possibly with Udyr and Yi, but I've never seen that happen.)

One time I almost got a quad kill when I used my ult with a dps Sion when the other team didn't have too much crowd control.

Mages are just as useless in this game as they are in others. If you can't instant-burst people down to near-nothing, you lose. It's as simple as that. Tanks can take pretty much anything you throw at them, and if you can't 1-shot most DPS, they'll just butt-fuck you in 2 seconds.

I've played all of them. I'm a purely mage player. I think I know my stuff. Mages, without dealing a significant amount of damage at start, will likely get owned by anyone. Most of the good mages are overpowered atm, and don't seem like they're even being looked at. Like Annie and this guy:


I liked playing Malzahar pre-buff. His range is way too far for his ultimate, it's no fun being able to hit someone with it even if they're hugging their tower. But ya, Malz is an exception.

Mages that can't instant-burst people are stuck hiding behind all of their teammates. Could just be me, but I'd rather be contributing to a fight at all times, being side by side in the front-lines with my allies. Instead, I'm hiding behind all the tanks and DPS that can do constant damage.

Don't get me wrong, I do like what Riot tried to do with mages, adding AP. Glad we can be useful late-game too, instead of just early game like all the other AoS games, but it's far from perfect.

In other AoS's there were 10x as many stuns, and usually the mages had those stuns. The lack of stuns in LoL kind of makes up for the bonus AP.

If you think they're useless in LoL, they must be twice as useless in a game like HoN or DotA because their abilities don't scale, at all. As Raccoon pointed out, the only viability mages have in the late game of HoN or DotA is their crowd control and stuns. The thing is, HoN is much more based around the early and mid game where mages dominate though most professional games never make it past the mid game where int heroes become absolutely useless, so appreciate them in LoL. Though personally I still think in LoL there is a bit too much ability spamming and ridiculous abilities for me to play seriously.
