Alright, what I'm trying to do is move a location down the path of observers.
They all start out as P12 observers.

Actions:
  • Give 1 Protoss Observer owned by Player 7 at 'RIVER 2x2' to Player 8
  • Give 1 Protoss Observer owned by Player 6 at 'RIVER 2x2' to Player 7
  • Give 1 Protoss Observer owned by Neutral at 'RIVER 2x2' to Player 6
  • Center location labeled 'RIVER 2x2' on Protoss Observer owned by Player 6 at 'RIVER 2x2'
  • Preserve Trigger

It works for a while, and then stops here. Why?

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

Attach map and we'll find out.

Things that could happen:
-somehow misplaced Observer
-Observer was placed for the wrong player
-ai moves the observer

Quick fixing idea:
-make the location 2.5x2.5. That could help (but something else should happen there)

How does it 'stop'?

Does the observer you're pointing at end up being owned by P6, P7, P8 or Nuetral?. Who are the observers on either side owned by.

By rights we should close this, but just in the future remember it

What could be happening, is if maybe another air unit passes by it it could mess them up, or the observers might all be touching each other just enough to push them out of alignment just far enough for your 2x2 location to not be able to reach that one observer.

It was that! Solved. :)

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
