Ok, so I used to make lots of UMS games for my friends and I, and arguably the main component to having a computer ally was the 'share vision' trigger. Well, we recently started playing again, and I noticed the trigger is gone, literally just gone. When I open up some of my old maps, the trigger is still saved, but when I click on the trigger to see the pull-down tab, the only options there are 'send all units on random suicide missions', send all units on strategic suicide missions', and 'switch computer player to rescue passive'. So, WHERE THE HELL DID THE SHARE VISION TRIGGER GO?????

None.

It's called "Turn on Shared Vision for Player x".

No, that's what I'm telling you, it's just gone... Condition = Always, Action = RUN AI SCRIPT, and there are only those 3 options there. It did not used to be this way, so wtf happened?

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Staredit has only very few AI scripts.
Use an advanced editor like ScmDraft 2 to access them all.

HOLY SHIT I completely forgot about this - I used to use SCMDraft2, can't believe I forgot. It was really blowing my mind that the trigger wasn't there LOL...Thank you so much NudeRaider!!!!

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
