Don't pay more than £36 for a CSCS card
CSCS continues to receive complaints from people who obtained their CSCS cards through third-party companies. These companies are unaffiliated with CSCS and just use the official CSCS application service on behalf of their clients while charging an administrative fee.

Alan O’Neile, Head of Communications at CSCS stated that while many third-party sites offer the services claimed and are perfectly legal, CSCS wishes to make construction workers aware that some charge substantially more than the official application price. The only official service is available at cscs.uk.com/apply. Applications are typically processed within 48 hours, and cards are supplied at a cost of £36.
Alan O'Neile also said that the CSCS office frequently be informed of construction workers paying upwards of £60 simply for their CSCS card. Therefore, if the cost of a card exceeds £36 or if the cost of the separate CITB Health, Safety, & Environment test exceeds £22.50, you should inquire as to why.
Alan O'Neile noted that “for some workers and employers, the services provided by third party organizations make it worth paying the extra charges, but, if you are paying more than £36 for a card, please check that you understand what additional services you will receive and that you are happy to pay for them.”
Additionally, some third-party websites misrepresent themselves as being associated with or official with CSCS by using the organization's logos. The CSCS is collaborating with its attorneys to remove false information from these websites.
