Tyres are among the most vital components of your vehicle since they are the sole connection between the vehicle and the road surface. Therefore, it is crucial to choose the right set of tyres for the vehicle as they improve the braking, acceleration and handling of your vehicle. A well-constructed set of tires will also improve fuel efficiency. However, tyres of low quality can cause an unpleasant and bumpy ride.

Here are some points to consider when choosing the correct set for your vehicle's tyres:

Tube-type or Tubeless

It is recommended to choose tyres with no tube instead of tube-type when deciding among the two. They are far more advanced and more secure than the tube-type tires. They also have other benefits. Furthermore, you do not have to buy alloy wheels to put on tubeless tyres. Your steel wheels will perform well using them since they are not rusty and come with an anti-rust coating within. Dimensions of the tyre

When purchasing new tyres you should pay focus to the size. And for that you should know how to read the size of a tire. This information is typically located on the sidewall of a tire, and it is written in a standardised way. For example you can see 195/55 R 16 87V. It could be taken as:

The tread width of the tire is 195mm

55% is the percentage of the tread width which is responsible in determining the sidewall's height.

R (Radial) refers to the radial construction of the tyre

16 (inches) refers to the size of the wheel.

87 refers to the load index of the tire

V is the speed rating of the tire

The size of a tire is represented in three components: the dimension of the rim the size of the tread and the width of the sidewalls.

Rim-Size

When choosing a tyre for Melbourne you must be aware that the dimension of the tyre is same as the rim you plan to mount it. If your rim is greater than the tyre you are using, it will reduce the size of the sidewall, which will adversely effect the ride and handling quality of your vehicle.

Tread wide

The tread's width is vital because it impacts your comfort and the car's performance. The type of driver and the vehicle you drive will impact the tread width. A tread that is wider is best for vehicles that produce a lot of power. If you're trying to improve your fuel mileage or you want to keep your lights on your steering or often drive your car in traffic jams, you should not go for a more wide tread.

Sidewall Height

After you have chosen the right size of rim and tread width, the next step is to choose the height of your sidewall to maintain the overall size of your new tyres similar to the old ones.

Tread Pattern

Another crucial aspect is choosing the tread pattern for your tyres. The tread pattern of a tyre plays a major role in your overall driving experience as they are responsible for the efficiency of your vehicle under various weather conditions. They assist in removing water from your vehicle when it is in a wet region. There are basically three types of tread patterns.

Conventional Tread

It's the most frequently used tread pattern. It is able to be used in both the directions and placed on the wheel in any way , provided that it doesn't have either of of the patterns that are uni-directional or asymmetric. These types of tyres are excellent for channeling the water that is accumulating in a inundated areas. This reduces tyre noise and helps to keep it away from waterlogged areas.

Unidirectional tread

Uni-directional tread patterns are most effective when they're rotated in one direction. The sidewalls of these tyres will be marked with an arrow which will specify the direction the tyre is intended to rotate.

Asymmetric-tread

Asymmetric tread patterns feature a sidewall on the outside, and an inner sidewall inside. The sidewall facing the road is the exterior, while the one facing the car is inside. There is a mark on the walls of the sides that states which side is supposed to be facing road and which side is car facing. This type of tread pattern helps when cornering at high speeds.

Rubber Compound

The type of rubber used for making the tyre is the most crucial factor to be kept in mind when buying a tyre. It's responsible for the wear characteristics and traction of a Tyre. High quality materials will improve the tyre's speed and traction rating. It will also help you gain traction on your vehicle.

Overall quality of the tyre

There are some things that one should keep in mind when buying a new set of tyres. These are:

Reputation of the manufacture

Purchasing your tyres from a reputed manufacture makes significant difference to the whole process. It is essential to seek opinions from others and to do your own research on the company. Famous tyre producers are equipped with modern manufacturing facilities, and offer higher quality materials and produce top quality products.

Warranty

It is not advisable to purchase any product that does not have a warranty. Pay attention to the fine print.

Date of production

When purchasing a tyre, it is important to verify the manufacturing date that is listed on its sidewall. It's a DOT number generally represented by the four digits of a number, with the first 2 digits indicate the week while the last 2 digits depict the year that the tyre was manufactured. It is suggested to not purchase the tyre with a date older than six months.

NudeRaider -- blessed innocent soul knows nothing of the strife we had before EUDs were discovered :teehee:

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
