Hello all, I haven't been active here in awhile, and I've decided to see if there are any opinions/solutions toward shutting down Net Support School. (?)

I've read plenty of things saying that you can shut down specific processes/services, however, they have never worked for me. There is one solution that I have not tried, considering that my computer admin at my school hates me (that's another story). Anyways, they say that going into C:\Program Files\Net Support School\remove.exe will temporarily shut it down, I'm too scared to try it.

If anyone has an opinion/experience with this program, help is greatly appreciated!

Also, if anyone has any experience with restricted network drives, that too!

Does this program work as a filter? Or do teachers just use it to teach you stuff?
And is this on a personal computer? I wouldn't try it on a school computer.
I'm sure you could shut this thing off with the command prompt as long as its not protected/encrypted.


That looks like the uninstall ware that comes with the software. If you used that they would probably try to catch anyone that used the computer and uninstalled it.

No, it's on a school computer. I'm probably just going to try it next time I'm in a teacher's class that actually likes me (very rare, but it happens!!!).

As for shutting down in command prompt, elaborate?

Create a .bat file, in it, type "start command.com" without the quotes, run the .bat file, that should get you into the command prompt, from there I would make a copy of the remove.exe, then delete it, if it causes any major problems, put it back in.

I can start command prompt fine. I mean elaborate on how to shut it down in command prompt.

If the security actually let's you use command prompt, it's not much of a security system. Just try tweaking things on your own, just experiment on a computer that they couldn't trace back to you.

If you can get into command prompt easily, it just sucks, why would you want to turn it off if you have command prompt? That's like just handing you access to the run command and anything else you could possibly want..

I can pretty much do anything. That's not the point. The point is that my system admin can just watch me do it, and then ban me. Trust me, it happened last year and I couldn't use the computer for 4th term.

If you can get into Control Panel, you should be able to go to Services in Administrative Tools, and then stop the service they are using to watch you.
