Really simple way to do it is to use the grass blend. Or does that only work in jungle? Idk ask falk.

Oh no, grass works perfectly well in Badlands, check it out:

(Yes, I know it's a little blocky, making it a bit thicker should fix that)

Just blend the grass on dirt with the grass on high dirt.

Ramp blending is actually quite fun, but it takes a little time, here's a little example I just made:

Notice how the cliff does not just go straight, behind the ramp the cliff is actually curved and nestled into a corner, other than that, just run through the ramp tiles, often mirroring the tiles is the best way to blend, use one tile from one ramp, and then use the corresponding tile from the other one next to it. You just have to go however long you want it. As I said, not using straight cliffs is the real trick, straight cliffs usually leads to blockiness, curved cliffs allows mirroring, and therefore less blockiness.

You are a livinng wonder for terrains, falkoner :bleh:
I am using it right now, and i got 1 other question: How do you make longer ramps? (to get down 2 cliffs or more), is it only another miror and tile-playing matter?

Yeah, you just have to play around with it, here's one I made for Mystic Islands:

You just keep playing around with it, and you eventually tend to find a blend that clicks, you can make it go down another cliff if you want, but only if you want a WIDE ramp :P

EDIT:
Oh, you mean long ramps, well, those ones are a bit more troublesome, and you'll most likely end up using sprites to cover up some blocks, mainly around the sides, what you really want to do is have ground space in between ramps, it also generally makes the terrain look better too, but if you really need a long ramp, here's one I made in Mystic Islands:

It all looks very good! I like the stacked cliff work, and you definitely did a good job on getting those ramps to go up two cliffs, great job so far!

Heh, the ramps are just the normal ones placed over the 2 cliffs, this was a lazy ramp job
This map will be a shooter-like opposing the players' tanks in diffrent styles of game, including: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the flag, Hold the Emmiter and more, i really hope this maps gets played over battle.net

Edit: There is a uncompleted peice in the capture the flag arena (the high dirt miror terrain) Its just hyper lazyness, since no players will see it :D

I made a long ramp for the now defunct terrain ladder. It's not too blocky, only one spot, which I discretely covered up with a tree sprite. I think I can fix it now, but I'm too lazy.

DarkenedFantasies -- Probably just didn't care. For example, at some point before release, they've updated the graphics of some of the Protoss buildings (Forge, CyberCore, Citadel, Observatory, Arbiter Tribunal), but instead of properly re-rendering them with edited 3D models, they did crappy copy-paste jobs on the rendered graphics.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?
[2026-6-21. : 4:25 am]
Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.
