Well, if I wanted to use this terrain blend very often in a map, it would require me to use many sprites, and the limit is 499, so you usually want to avoid using them as much as possible, but as I said, it's not so bad, it all depends on how much you plan on using other sprites.

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
