New question: How do I shot web make buildings morph into units (another bit from PM {aka Nerien Guard buildings deconstructing}, but I'm using it for an experimental {and top-sekrit} third race)?

EDIT: Disregard, I have a theory that should work.

Yet another question: I'm trying to make a bunker/dropship hybrid. Does anyone know how best to achieve it? The bunker seems to have precious little information attatched to it, so I think that it may be hardcoded. Would I just be better off removing the bunker's building status, making it buildable out of a structure, and making it fly?

I've never experimented with the bunker but I'll tell you what I know.
People have tried this. The thing that makes units able to shoot out of a bunker is the .lo overlay that it's using. You can make any unit use the overlay and hold units. The problem is that the units stay/shoot from where they have loaded.

Simply put:
1. Give the marine the ability to move load units and give it the bunker overlay.
2. Load several firebats in the marine.
3. Move marine from point A to point B.
4. Zerglings happen to stumble across point A.
5. Zerglings are fried.

Goddammit. >:(

Fucking hardcoding getting in the way of us making SC our bitch. You sure there's no way to get the overlay to follow the unit?

ALL PRAISE YOUR SUPREME LORD CORBO

Actually, I was talking to DoA once and he mentioned something about that it was very possible to have mobile bunkers and so.
I did not ask any further information cause that wasn't what I asked him :P

I do not know how but I do can give you a way to bypass it.
Use a building -> unit morph. Like say... Siege tank, but then you'd have to press a button everytime you wish to move or attack.

Anyway, I posted because I desperately needed to correct hat.
Hat, the thing that makes bunker shoot isn't a .lo file. .lo files are only overlay information and overlays are not attacks :P

fuck you all

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
