The sword and the faith

Ok
Ive starting production again on BunkerKraft. Im trying to get the bunker to morph into a supply depot. The requirements fit and the buttons like yes i can be built and all, but when you click it, nothing happens. Action Function: Building Morph Action Variable: Supply Depot.

What do i have to mess with to make this work? Im guessing something in the EXE edits? :dontgetit:

Edit:
Got it morph correctly but when it finishes the morph it crashes. ;_;

Sure it isn't a defense map that do those things automatically? Make sure you have the frames, unit animations, and the Supply Depot with the settings.

lol. When I was trying this I at least got it to finish and give me the unit I started with. :P
No idea what I did, though. I have a topic somewhere at ml or something...

Did you make sure you have exe edits? >.> I guess to morph at all you must have had something?

I have done some experiments with buildng morphs... I remember that when I made a terran building to morph in another Terran building, it morphed in itself. I don`t remember how.

I think its impossible to morph correctly into a terran building. In fact, its impossible to morph correctly into any building that isnt originally an upgraded building. You can just upgrade to Lair, Hive, Greater Spire, Spore and Sunken Colonies.

If you are not using zerg, you can make a copy of your supply depot into one of that buildings.

Bumping this. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this up? I'm not averse to using an older version of FG if it has the exe edits I need, I'm just not sure what they are.

I'll help you out with it later, when I have time to look at it. ^^

I assume you edited the iscript with an eye toward the original morphing buildings? Have you tried setting the race flag to Zerg on the supply depot? In the original STF, where Sentryguns upgrade through three levels, I recall that the race flag somehow mattered for the resulting building of a morph. In other words, the Sentrygun Lv1 could be Terran, but Lvl2 had to be Zerg.

mkay, so I don't have a copy of FG that I can access on me right now, but morph is something that I spent a lot of time messing with, so i have a decent idea. basically, if you set it up with out the exe edits, then you've got it so that when it finishes, it will be reverting to the original building. There are one or two sets of exe edits you'll have to edit to get it to work, although I don't know if the race flag matters(listen to herc, since he's the one the building morph exe edits were created for). Anyway, there's a range of buildings that can morph, so you need to extend it to be beyond the ones that you've got. And then there is a range of buildings that can be morphed into, so you'll have to edit that one too.

Also, if it doesn't work with the bunker, that could be some hard coded reason. Bunkers are rather particular. Best bet is to try to get any 2 buildings that aren't in the default range working, and then work from there.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
