Char was formerly one of the thirteen core worlds of the Confederacy, but it is most notorious as the primary hive planet of the alien zerg. Upon its discovery, Char was found to be an inhospitable volcanic planet with thick ash covering most of its surface and tainting its acrid atmosphere. The hazardous environment is further intensified by extremely high levels of cosmic radiation from Char's volatile pairing of binary stars, a class VI F0 sub dwarf orbiting an M8 irregular variable.

http://starcraft2.com/images/screenshots/ss88-hires.jpg New screenshot also. With 2 new units/buildings and noticeable improvement to the appearance of creep (looks more starcraft less warcraft).

It looks like they made the creep much thinner.

Oh yeah, I noticed now that the Jackals have wheels and Roaches have a bit of a makeover. And the Hatchery looks better than ever, it's no longer a cake what most people calls it since there are wrinkles. Odd, there are webs on the edges of the Hatchery. The two new Zerg structures is a bit hard to know what they even represent. The Zerg Structure in the center of the whole screenshot looks like a redesigned Ultralisk Cavern.

Looks like we have to wait for Batch 41 to find out.

Dungeon Master

The thing in the middle is a nydus worm... The ultralisk cavern is near the top left.

The spawning pool still looks like it should be some kind of elf fountain... -_-

As you can see, the Terran Jackals no longer have a single front wheel tire, but instead have two, giving it more of a 'buggy-like' feel.

And I think the other two are a Hydralisk Den and an Ultralisk Cavern, but i might be wrong.

Also, bit of a Retcon? I thought Char was in a separate part of space to the core Terran worlds?
And just noticed, a moon called Eris, Maybe Char is a lot closer to Earth than we thought?

The top right one is the evolution chamber and the left one is hydralisk den.

Char is nowhere near or in the Solar System. As a matter of fact, the entire StarCraft story takes place only in the Koprulu Sector. Earth may be the only exceptional planet because as the home planet of the United Earth Directorate. Even though Eris is a moon to Char fictionally, yet it is named as a dwarf planet in the Solar System through nonfiction.

I forgot to add a :bleh: to the end of that sentence, i know all that, just was remarking on the name of the moon, it seems an odd choice to me.

Oh and, your second sentence makes no sense.

For some reason, Blizzard actually 'updated' that screenshot. When you first linked that screenshot, the queen was facing towards the camera, there were stacked Banshees, the Terran forces were a bit closer along with the camera, and the jackals, roaches, hydralisks, Siege Tanks, and Banshees were all at a different spot. And originally the screenshot did not have that overlord dumping creep on the top side of the screenshot. Weird.

Blizzard really needs to notify us if they're going to update a screenshot, or even send a new one altogether.

Oh I also noticed that the updated screenshot gives us a first perspective of a detailed vespene gas sac.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
