The sword and the faith

Jungle Arena
A Team Death Match / Capture The Flag map

Map information:
Size: 64x64
Players: 6 Human, 2 Computer. 3v3 Teams.
Map Type: Team Death Match / Capture The Flag, Arena Style.
Tileset: Jungle
File Size: TBA
Description: Ive been meaning to make an arena style map for awhile and after a lot of other outlines were scrapped due to various restrictions or problems. This however is coming along quite nicely.

Using a bit of extended terrain for some custom doodads, adding flare to the arena space, it is a basic layout of two temples with a small forest inbetween them, perfect for ambushing your enemy. You may choose from one of eight units (Marine, Firebat, Ghost, Hydralisk, Zergling, Archon, Dragoon, Zealot.) with which to reach one of two goals: Achieve a team score of 100 kills or capture the enemies flag three times, depending on game mode. (The variables of kill amountage and flag captures needed to win may become user-selectable as is the game mode.)

Aside from that, the map is pretty straightfoward. Kill or capture.

Progress:
Terrain: 100%
Text: 80%
Unit Placement: 90%
Triggers: 10%
Balancing: 30%

Maybe give the players some items/abilities?

Looks fine, but it really needs some original twist.

None.

The sword and the faith

I have neither the ability to make myself trigger nor triggering skill to add items/abilities. Ill be lucky if i finish triggering the CTF mode.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new

Oh_Man -- makes me wonder if SEN knows anything about the topic
