Desert Terrain?

I've been looking for some nice custom Terrain in the desert, but I've noticed there aren't very many example maps anymore. And if there are, the links wont work. Anyone feel like helping out? I really want to learn how to do custom terrain for this map I'm working on.

Thanks

Have you checked my Terrain Compilation? It has one or two maps with some good blends in it.

I could try doing something in desert, but if you don't already have it, Falkoner's terrain compilation has a little bit of desert. Terrain Compilation.

EDIT: Damn, you got there before me. >:(

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

EDIT: I tried to download it but it says "The quickkey you provided for file download was invalid. This is usually caused because the file is no longer stored on Mediafire. This occurs when the file is removed by the originating user or Mediafire." =(.

Ok.... I have one, but it is filled with all my junk. Do you still want?

Sure as long as the desert terrain is there, I can just remove your stuff.

Are you sure about that?

God, that was definitely hilarious.

I also hosted it at SeN, lemme find it. Here it is I tried to make the links directly to the file, so they sometimes go offline, don't worry, it'll be fixed this summer when I revamp the entire website.

Falkoner's going to update his website! :omfg:
There really isn't that much on desert, the best way to get beautiful desert terrain for your map would be to mess with the tileset index until you have sexy blends.

Much appreciated everyone! I made my first "Advanced" Terrain piece using parts of the maps given to me and I know it's not that good but any advice would be great:

Whoa! That's pretty good! Is that your first time doing extended terrain on desert or first time ever? Btw, I like the ramp.
EDIT: Taking another look at it, I think you should use a different sprite. The bushes look out of the place on compound.

I like it, I don't think I've seen double compound yet, nice job!

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
