I was testing Polaris' SMC entry mod when my CD drive tore it into a thousand pieces. No warning at all. O_O

I spent a good two hours fishing pieces out of the drive. :P

Ew, no. :P
It's probably a cat hair. e_e It's also the floor, not a table.

👻 👾 👽 💪

*cries*
I still have MY original CD, though... and like 4 backups... including an iso backup.

Actually, I just realized that my bw CD is broken. But only in one of the install *.cab files.

TinyMap2 - Latest in map compression! ( 7/09/14 - New build! )
EUD Action Enabler - Lightweight EUD/EPD support! (ChaosLauncher/MPQDraft support!)

lol

My BW cd looks like that except it's still in one piece.

And it works.

Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.

Oh ya? I have TWO original BW discs, 3 burned copies of each, an ISO, and another burned DVD that has my downloaded maps, mods, and installation directory. :P

So? And why would you need 2 anyway? That seems redundant. Same with 6 burned. Why 8?
I've also had SC *almost* as long as BW has been out.

My friend's Diablo 2 CD was like that. You had to hold it so carefully... but then his CD drive exploded it.

Lord of the Locker Room

I got a release SC cd, version 1.0 and all, but it's my BW cd that is a maze of scratches and indents

?????

My original SC disk is still in nearly fresh-from-the-case condition, and I've never bothered running SC no-CD. =P

Symmetry -- Man I wish we had this tech back in the day when people played ums lmao
[2026-7-16. : 6:28 am]
NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.
[2026-7-16. : 6:26 am]
NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor
[2026-7-16. : 2:28 am]
Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
[2026-7-15. : 4:10 am]
Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
[2026-7-15. : 2:19 am]
Symmetry -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
