I realized that if you post on a thread then later add a quote to it (Even if you don't change the amount of text you wrote, just add an empty quote at the end). It will cause you to lose some of your minerals.

I would understand losing some for quoting text that was unquoted before. But if you add in a quote during an edit, you lose minerals. (I just lost six for adding a quote to the end of one of my posts even though the amount of text increased outside the quote.)

Example:

This is a post.

EDIT:
"Here is a quote I added but I still left the above text in the post."

Result:
Lost Minerals.

Yeah. Thats really weird. I added words, then put them in a quote and BAM, I went down 3 minerals. Maybe because its in BB code. I think you only get minerals for things that you type. Meaning that you don't get minerals for anything in code.

No, add a quote to the end of it. Leave your first text the same.

Well, Idk. Didn't do it when I just tested it on this forum.

I experienced the problem here:

None.

Yes, but I lost minerals when I added a quote to the end of a post. (I thought I did at least)
Not quoting things that I had already typed.

You already don't get minerals for text in quotes.

EDIT started with this quote:
testing... Success I just lost 3 minerals for adding this quote to the end of the post. Even though I didn't add or remove any of the above text.

ADDITION:

I think this only happens when quoting more than once in a post. and adding quotes by editing. Is the mineral per post count based on a quote/normal text ratio of some sort?

Two things to say. One is that we're not going to tell you how it works because it could potentially lead to exploitation. The other is that if you spam away at an attempt to find out, you're just going to lose all your minerals.

Sorry, I just thought It was something that needed to be addressed and/or fixed.

Didn't mean to cause any problems.

2. Did you mean your going to take away my precious minerals? or I'll lose them because of the bug? (I worked hard to get out of the negatives, don't take them away!)

Nono, your intentions are good. Reporting of bugs is a good thing.

What is the point of minerals 2_@? What can you buy? Besides stuff like avatars and titles I mean.

Look at my username and you will find out. On sen v4 you could buy Kiwis and name shadows, good times :) .

Out of all the members at SEN I find it funny that it's you that has one of the name colors.

This can be closed/locked now.

I would do it myself but I don't know how. (Or if I even can.)

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
