Quote from Wikipedia
Pachelbel's Canon also known as Canon in D major, or more formally, Canon and Gigue in D major for three Violins and Basso Continuo (Kanon und Gigue in D-Dur für drei Violinen und Basso Continuo) is the most famous piece of music by Johann Pachelbel. It was written in or around 1680, during the Baroque period, as a piece of chamber music for three violins and basso continuo, but has since been arranged for a wide variety of ensembles. The Canon was originally paired with a gigue in the same key, although this composition is rarely performed or recorded today. It is well known for its chord progression which has become one of the most used in popular music.

Still don't remember about what song we are talking about?

What's amazing about this piece of song (that's incredibly catching) is the number of different versions that has been made for very different instruments. I attach a tecno-like one that I found pretty good.
Want more? Check out this rock version by JerryC (that is, if you haven't listened to it already):

You wouldn't imagine how famous it is. Just take a look at the following video (which is pretty funny):

Know any more versions? Post them!

There doesn't seem to be a good feed online for it, but Taco Bell - Michigan Amazin' Blue on Wasting our Parents money is one of the best renditions of the tune that I've found

Relatively ancient and inactive

Yeah, Pachelbel rocks. One of my favorite pieces. 'Punk rock is just a joke, it's really all Baroque'.. priceless.

I never get tired of that one. Played it 3 violins a few years back for a performance organized by the music school I went to at the time. I still play it every now and then when I'm alone at home.

I'll totally look into it whenever I buy a guitar (maybe next xmas?) :P

EDIT: Interesting... I was wondering why this topic is not dying... of course I have a link set as my signature...
The weird part is that I created the signature before IP made the store stuff, so I have the signature disabled (haven't bought it yet) lol

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

Symmetry -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
