Hello,

I have been working on a StarEdit data mod and it has been working great so far. I am however running into some problems that I would like help with.

First off, is it possible to change player colors and add square terrain with just a data mod (file i can edit to change these without reverse engineering a bunch of stuff).

Second.. after modifying the unit settings I am not able to change the player from 1 to another. For example, I highlight 20 marines, go to properties and try to change them all from P1 to P2. It doesn't work..

AND FINALLY!.... when buildings don't use the placement size in StarEdit addons no longer work. I was able to play around with it and figure out how to kind of make it work... but they aren't lined up properly. Can this be done? ( did this by changing the addon offset to a huge number which seemed to make it be a negative, but i had difficulty lining it up).

THANK YOU!

EDIT: I lied, I am trying to add shields to units like you could in StarForge. I changed the unit.dat file to allow it and you can in the editor but the changes don't take effect in-game. I saw a custom map last night where a Terran unit had a shield so I know it is still possible.. is there another flag for it somewhere?

Ultraviolet -- just sent you a message on Discord. I suspect you're probably trying to change unit speeds for units that don't use flingy.dat for movement (like any units that walk instead of hovering/flying). You can change their movement to flingy, but they unfortunately look more like they're gliding than walking when you do that.

Symmetry -- EE2, I've been using setdatfile successfully for units.dat and weapons.dat but the flingy changes don't seem to happen

Ultraviolet -- in EE2 you just open DatEdit, go to the flingy tab, and make whatever changes you want. Though if you want to do dynamic shit, you have to use the trigger editor with the setdatfile action. And of course you have to inject your changes when done. Can give more specific troubleshooting advice if you provide more details
