SOMA is a sci-fi horror game from Frictional Games, creators of the groundbreaking Amnesia and Penumbra series.

Coming to PC and PS4 in 2015.

The radio has gone silent on PATHOS-2. As isolation bears down on the staff of the remote research facility, strange things are happening.

Machines are taking on human traits and alien constructions have started to interfere with routine. The world around them is turning into a nightmare.

The only way out is to do something unimaginable.

Hello

So, did anyone play it?
Gameplay was okay, the visuals and sounds were amazing, top tier. The story is the game's biggest strength, though. Might be the best story I have ever witnessed in a videogame.
10/10 would love to see/play it all for the first time again.

I've heard good things about it. I'll probably pick it up on some Steam sale in the future, as I don't have that much time for gaming anymore and I have other games that goes higher up on the list atm.

this pretty much sums up my views on it, although I think I'd rather give it a 9/10 for the lack of explanation of the enemy characters (they tend not to be that well explained)

Hello

SOMAs beauty still amazes.
Has some replay-value; several other nice dialogs occur depending on the choices made.

Recommending it to everyone, who is in the mood for a good science-fiction story told through a videogame in a beautiful atmosphere.

I just picked it up as it's 40% off on Steam this weekend. Looking forward to trying it.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
