Sweet :D

Go to the church and offer a generous donation to one of the preachers to have them train you in how to be even more charismatic.

Mar 1 2013, 5:27 am Vrael Post #142

Also, pause and reflect on the prior day's success with a long "Yarrrrr...."

:)

None.

Just here for the pie

Go to the church and challenge any of those stupid fundies to a religious debate do what Azrael said.

wth is starcraft

Also acquire paints from the theists - paint murals to develop your creativity.

Upon completion, utter "Arrr" with great satisfaction.

Mar 1 2013, 8:36 pm rayNimagi Post #145

You utter a strong "Arr!" before heading over to the church. Upon entering the main hall, you notice that it's completely devoid of people save one well-dressed woman in the front row. Her head is bowed in prayer.

Ask her if you can paint her, making her the cornerstone of your ground breaking portfolio.

Mar 1 2013, 8:57 pm Azrael Post #147

Go talk to her and try to find out where you can locate a preacher in order to continue your intended actions.

Mar 2 2013, 10:41 pm rayNimagi Post #148

"Oh, he's probably in his study," she points down a hallway.

Upon asking the preacher to teach you some rhetoric, he begins to drone on about God and Jesus for an hour. Unfortunately, you don't learn anything that would help you aboard the Trident.

Your bag of gold is now slightly lighter. The main points of interest in St. Christopher are the general store, the blacksmith, the tailor, the church, and the tavern.

Demand your money back, utilize a weapon if necessary.

Mar 3 2013, 2:33 am Fire_Kame Post #150

Also ask them if they need anyone to work for them to pay back the moral debt you have accumulated by learning self defense and obtaining goods legally.

Mar 3 2013, 7:29 pm rayNimagi Post #151

You demand your money back from the priest. The argument quickly escalates and you threaten to beat him up. It seems that the religious man is stronger than he looks, as he manages to knock you out with a single punch.

You wake up in your hammock on the Devil's Trident. It is the next day, and the ship has already left St. Christopher.

"Ahoy, matey!" remarks Jim. "I see ye got a black eye. Did ye 'practice' some fisticuffs with some townsmen?"

Being a creative corsair, you think that you could reasonably tell Jim that you had to fight some guards after pickpocketing your twenty doubloon "treasure" from some of St. Christopher's nobility.

Yes tell him that but say it was 15 doubloons. Then ask where we are headed next.

Mar 3 2013, 8:19 pm Azrael Post #153

Yes tell him that but don't give an exact amount of doubloons.

Oh sure now we decide to soil our perfect reputation by lying?

Tell him the truth - preacher man punched you out. It's so absurd it isn't like he'll believe you anyways.

Mar 4 2013, 2:03 am rayNimagi Post #155

"Shiver me timbers!" Jim gasps. "I never knew ye be so daring. We ought to have more lads like you aboard the Trident!"

Over the next few days, Jim tells your story to his friends. They recount your exploits with increasingly greater and greater embellishments, until people are saying that you fought off dozens of the governor's guards with your bare fists. Although some don't believe your story, and resent your success, you've earned the respect of many sailors aboard the Devil's Trident.

Ron scoffs the next time you meet him. "I know ye be not fully trained in the art of stealth yet," he comments. "Me skills don't teach themselves in a week. But I don't care, so I'll let them have their fun." For the next several weeks, Ron teaches you his ways, and before long, you feel confident in your ability to sneak across a dark room.

Meanwhile, the other officers have begun to take notice of your work as temporary boatswain. They've also acknowledged your skill in battle during the last couple of raids. Even d'Artagnan is impressed with your swordfighting abilities, and has begun to forgive you.

Once in awhile you overhear Peavey talking with the captain. Although you aren't making any bets on it, you feel that it shouldn't be too long until you're made into the official boatswain.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
