Disunion

“Ambling madly all over the town, the call to arms a liken to a whisper, a liken to a radio… But you, my brother in arms, I’d rather loose my limbs then let you come to harm… the bullets may singe your skin, and the mortars may fall… But I, have never felt so much life, then tonight, huddled in the trenches. Gazing on the battlefield, our rifles blaze away. We blaze away… We blaze away…”
--The Decembrists: The Soldiering Life

The Story

The Magistrate’s cruel and unusual punishments, laws, and government have caused a group of citizens to form a coalition -- a coalition hell bent on fixing the Magistrate’s flaws and restoring Democracy to the people. They see themselves as the world’s new beginning: they call themselves the Incipere Novellas.

Game Play

The Magistrate and Incipere Novellas must both start out by creating housing to “conscript” able-bodied men. The next major development would be to construct a factory to create gasoline, steel, ammunition and other goods for the construction of buildings and military units. Alliances between all Incipere Novellas and Magistrate teams are automatic and once the game has started, alliances can be removed. Every 24 seconds on the countdown timer is 1 day and there is a maximum of 365 days to play the game (146 minutes of gameplay). Why such a limit? Because there is more to the game then first meets the eye. A delicate balance of strategy will develop when you play the game and losses and kills affect the outcome of each day. A loss one day can mean victory the next since reinforcements, technologies, upgrades, and supply can come with losses and kills at the end of each day.

Completion:

GRPs -- 90%
Iscript --25%
Dat Edits -- 80%
TblPad -- 0%
Terrain -- 0%
Bin Edits -- 90%
Grafting -- 90%
Triggers -- 1%

Sounds good on paper, but how do you even plan to incorporate most of the listed features? And what time period is this?

None.

I use firegraft, and if you didn't notice, I'm already about 1/2 done. Check the main thread at Maplantis for updates.

Sounds like a winner! Is this what you meant by "starting a new mod"?

142 minutes? Wow that's a long time. :) Turn based strategy games are my all time favorite. Sid Meyer is GOD.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
