wth is starcraft

Dishonored is a game published by Bethesda and produced by Arkane Studios set to launch next week.

I'm excited and apprehensive about this game. I want it even though I can't really say it's "my" type of game, it's more bloodier than games I usually play. I think the stylized approach from the graphics will help ease that to me. I'm also apprehensive because I don't want the plot to fall flat on it's face at sometime, or for to the game play - and what looks like a vast amount of combat strategies - to taper off as the game goes on to create a stagnant game. It looks like the game by and large takes place in a single city, so that may not speak well for the longevity, either.

I don't know if I'll run out and buy it, but if the first user reviews come back positive I might pick it up.

Yes I've been following this since E3. It seems very original, although I get a very "Bioshock" vibe from it, which probably just stems from the art style and Victorian era.
Actually I think I remember a Youtuber saying it was "Bioshock meets Assassins Creed meets Mirrors Edge" - probably not far off the mark there.

What seems really interesting is the way you can mix and match the spells in unique effects. Like spawning rats, throwing a bomb on a rat, possessing the rat - and then driving it towards a group of people.

I'll be buying it - at the very least it will tide me over until Bioshock Infinite.

Woah

I ended up buying this when it came out. I'm underwhelmed. I think it is a beautiful game and has some very fun aspects to it, but for the most part I'm playing BioShock again.

Well that's disappointing. It isn't my type of game to begin with, that might've put the nail in the coffin.

Played it. Exited to windows every time I died because I'm a casual and forgot no auto saves and sneaking around took forever. Whenever I came back I just decided I would kill everyone instead of sneaking past them. I heard you get a different ending if you kill too many people but I'm too casual for that ending, also the combat is too fun to pass up.

Time stop is pretty broken. You can just use it and teleport past a crowded room between every ones line of sight.

None.

Finished on both high chaos and low chaos pretty fun game but not nearly as much replay value as they said it would.

Also the storyline was not as powerful as Bioshock's by any stretch.

Ultraviolet -- I suppose we'll likely never know, but my guess would be that they already saw it operating successfully and there was no monetary incentive to finish the original work. And the dev cycle in old school Blizzard was so hectic, it's possible it just got forgotten about after the original game got released. Plus there's an element of existing MPQ files that were packaged with the original discs becoming outdated if they updated it. And it's not like they remade the original MPQs, they just made new ones for BW specifically

Oh_Man -- so that makes me think maybe the theory they are unfinished is not true and its a deliberate design decision, coz why not finish them wen ur making brood war?

Oh_Man -- the thing is thos buildings are from classic. that means they went ahead and made brood war without ever finishing the 'unfinished' buildings

Ultraviolet -- Yeah he's talked about a lot of that stuff in his casts before. It seems plausible. Especially knowing how Blizzard of yesteryear operated.

NudeRaider -- to clarify: couldn't recall the behavior for every single Protoss building but I was aware the disparity exists.

NudeRaider -- Contained nothing new for me. Didn't know all building's behavior, but very much all unit's. Also Terran balance whine - also nothing new
