SEN went down towards the end of April 12th and was just recently restored. We are not sure exactly what happened, but it appears there was a corruption in the database. In trying to repair that, it was discovered that SEN was very low on disk space. Certain system processes on the servers were filling it with useless files and logs. (This appears to have been preventing repairs to the database.)
As of now, many gigabytes of space have been cleared. A repair on the forum database was run successfully and all data appears to be intact. While we are not exactly sure what caused the issue (running out of disk space seems like a likely culprit), we are looking to figure that out and correct it. Furthermore, we apologize for the downtime and any inconvenience to our SEN community.
UPDATE: Clearing old and useless files has created about 135x more free space available on SEN's server. (I wish I was kidding) Things should be faster and/or break less frequently because of this.

None.
I saw "Max connections exceeded" and I assumed Romania's bots were eating SEN again, so I wrote it off as normal like every other day. Ah well.
Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.

Yeah, we're still not exactly sure what happened. The max_user error came up longer than normal, and prevented access to SEN's SQL db or FTP. Once everything was rebooted, parts of the SQL db started to disappear. As Moose said, we've made some changes to the MySQL as well as freeing up a ton of space, so hopefully this wont happen again ever (or at least anytime soon).

Does this mean the search feature could be re-enabled?

I get god damn SQL errors when I'm trying to preview my monster-post. It's really annoying.
A Staredit Network error has occured:
