Just tried it a bit and I'm as terrible as I expected. The style reminds me a lot of Blazblue, which I'm also terrible at. You got any tips for how to stop button-mashing and start executing some proper combos and stuff in these kind of games?

Playing against other players online is always a good start, or if you're still getting used to the controls, go in practice mode (really just vs. Player) and mess around a bit without the pressure of an opponent who's attacking you. See what inputs do what, and try out some basic combos and see which assists you like.

haha for sure. in some ways it's even more exciting because you can play EUD maps on regular battle.net, don't need to convince someone to download your mod to play with you. what did you do?
