I do look forward to playing this game some day, but there are other priorities (games) that come first. I also want to give Sonic CD a spin when it gets re-released, as I have never had a chance to play it.
The last sonic would of worked if it was any other game but sonic is only about speed... and cleverly designed so that a pro can go through the game without ever stopping.

Exactly, and that's what they keep missing in the modern ones. The Genesis levels were made so you could more or less go straight through them if you knew what you were doing. You could choose to adventure through the level, which was generally necessary the first few times, but there were multiple routes and you could always try to do it faster and get more rings and points the next time through.
By the way, I saw this today. The game looks very promising.
I especially like the violin version of the level music that is playing at the beginning, very nice.
Edit: For reference, the original level from Sonic 3 & Knuckles is in this video.
Keep in mind this is a single act level, whereas Generations has given it two acts and the first video only shows the first one. I'd guess that Mecha Sonic will be a prominent part of the second act, since it isn't quite Sky Sanctuary without him.

See now I'm a sonic adventure fag an believe that sonic just stopped making proper sequels after adventure 2 battle. The only reason I think this has a chance of being good is because they are just using what they already had making it HD. They introduced a lot of gimmicks over the years (group of 3 teams, guns, turning into a warewolf/swords, racing) but the original did just fine.
I don't know. I just don't believe a good sonic game can ever be created. Sorry :c
This time there isn't gimmicks though, there are two playable characters, and anything remotely gimmicky (like homing attack, I hate that shit) will not be included for Classic Sonic.
Now they just need to make Classic Sonic a playable character in every future Sonic game and we'll be all set.
Symmetry shouted: Man I wish we had this tech back in the day when people played ums lmao

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.
Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
