This thread wasn't random, you chose Voy specifically.

None.

Yeah, there are hundreds of inactive members on this site. If this was truly random, it would have been much more likely that you'd pick one of them.

None.

The sword and the faith

You know, I've long been at a loss of what exactly to do with Null. A lot of times posts will be reported, I'll read through the topic and review the reported post, and sit there wondering for a moment. Too many cases end in me going 'Oh fuck it' and leaving it be because I don't feel like dealing with the backlash of trying to keep you kids in line. I never used to do that. But since people adopted the viewpoint of 'Well I didn't create the topic, so I'm gonna post in it until it gets locked.' and made long drawn out messes of topics that were obviously moments away from a lock, and pushed me away. I'm not going to be pushed away by a bunch of kids making a mess. I know sometimes its fun to be 'inb4lock' and I've had fun with topics like that on occasion. But it has to stop somewhere.

Here in Null there are a gazillion forum games, troll topics, spam, shit no one cares about, and a lot of topics like this one that fall under 'Yeah its a pointless little topic but it doesn't really hurt anything now does it?'.

Well now this is going to hurt someone. Topics being locked, severity being given, and since this topic is obviously pointless, anyone found replying to it in a similar pointless/spammy fashion will also be given severity. If you want to contribute to something that you know is wrong, then you will be punished just as much as the person who started it."

Complaints? Hand 'em to the management. But from now on, no one gets off when they're part of the problem.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
