I haven't posted here in a while, but I recently stumbled upon this article about an upcoming Game of Thrones RPG and was wondering how excited other people were to hear of it. It's not a truly original idea since it comes from the books, but it's a breath of fresh air in the gaming industry.

Also, the RTS looks like it could be fun, but the graphics look pretty crappy in those screenshots. Hopefully they release higher resolution photos later.

None.

Woah

I love the books, I love the show, but I don't like the idea of this being turned into an RPG. I loved the LotR books, loved the LotR movies, and was psyched for the games, and all of them disappointed me. I guess I'm assuming it'll be the same for this. :/

They were recruiting for it over at maxforums.org a while ago. Not sure if it was for the game, or for VFX on the series however. Never seen the show yet, but keep hearing good things about it.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

The show is awesome. But I'm not sure if I would like a game about it.

It was for previs for season 2 of the show. I think the responses are funny, though, as this is for previs, not actual work on the show.

Lord of the Rings - War in the North looks really, really cool. Too bad MW3, Skyrim, and Halo Anniversary all come out at the same time as it. :massimo:

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier

Symmetry -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
