The death of the last bit of competition in the media

If you didn't read the link, do it.

If you don't know what the Media-Opoly is, or why it's such a bad thing, you can read watch this totally legit informational video. Really, most of that stuff is straight up.
At about 45 seconds you'll notice the appearance of a newspaper, not portrayed as evil. That's because, generally speaking, newspapers are just newspapers. They're not backed by monster corporations (Disney, Fox etc.), so they're pretty much the only media outlet (save the internet) that can say anything bad about the big media companies. Once the papers are swallowed up by networks (which have HUGE budgets to sink into this), the Media-Opoly will have a virtually complete grip on speech and press.

I just have to say that this qualifies as the thing that has upset me the most in a month or so. Furthermore, I think this shows that the FCC needs to change. The decisions they make affect the entire country on a huge scale, yet it's just 5 people.
They ignore public and congressional outcry, and the difference was only one person. The things the FCC controls are no longer small and insignificant. They are huge. Still, a mere 5 people can make these greatly important decisions with a simple majority. What the heck???

Edit: Organization fixed.

I'm thinking more like completely handing over major policy changes to Congress. At least they can be held accountable (to some extent) for utterly ignoring public outcry.

You realize if there was NO FCC or federal gov't, we wouldn't have this regulation in the first place?

Update! Hurrah for Congress
Perhaps power will be released from the hands of these five dudes and given over to Congress, or a more responsible board.
