So I was 'accepted' to be a generalist, and I think that this part is fun. I made 12 bucks yesterday, which isn't that much but hey, I could either do random queries or I could sit around and be bored.
In my opinion, transcribers/expediters apparently don't do anything. I've received so many spelling errors, mistranslations, and miscategorized things that it isn't funny. In one day, even. Which doesn't effect their pay (unless they get caught), but it does effect mine, because I have to go through and find out what the original text was trying to say, and then if it isn't categorized correctly the pay rate is lower.
Otherwise its fun.

I like looking up random things on wikipedia. I don't see how anyone could make a living off of it though.
ChaCha is only a backup income for goodies. Things like candy, soda, smokes, etc. In no way can one live off of ChaCha.
Transcribers receive voice messages, they listen to them and type what they hear. Sending it onto an Expeditor with errors is OKAY because it's the Expeditors job to clean up the query's grammar and spelling errors to the best of their knowledge. If the Expeditor can't answer the customers query with a PAQ or a QQ (automatic answers), then the query is sent onto a Generalist/Specialist. Usually if a Expeditor doesn't remove clear and obvious typos, and grammar errors, they will receive a 0% Quality on there overall quality percentage score. So if the Expeditor does it continually, then they will be deactivated and will not be able to apply or become a ChaCha guide... ever.
It's fun to ask chacha things like "What color underwear ;)"
Yeah, it's fun for us to. We get two cents for 3 clicks. When you receive answers to them, they're usually going to PAQ's or QQ's. This means that the Guide sends you a message that a guide had probably wrote over 3 years ago.
;)
None.

In highschool a few years ago me and my friend used to always spam messages asking for like dates or hugs or random nonsensical things we'd joke about amongst ourselves.

Does it effect their quality rating to miscategorize things? I mean, Conversation only pays .10 a question, Physics is .13, I think bio and astronomy is up there. I've gotten 'conversation' questions about cephalopods. While its only .04 cents, it adds up when you see it happen repeatedly.
I also lol every time I see what is obviously a test question.
They should have the various ranks working against each other to bust poor performers.
Police State ChaCha.

Do you think Google has something to do with this all?

Anyway, the obligatory meaningful information:

What precisely do PAQ and QQ stand for?
"If a topic that clearly interest noone needs to be closed to underline the "we don't want this here" message, is up to debate."

What precisely do PAQ and QQ stand for?
PAQ = short for Pacman.
QQ = QQ.
No but seriously, idk.
Win by luck, lose by skill.
QQ = ALT + Q, ALT + Q, means to leave a game in a hurry on Starcraft and WC2 BNE.
