Minecraft should not have the ram requirements on sc2 on ultra.

Minecraft should not have the ram requirements on sc2 on ultra.

Yes, but each block has a location, an id type and characteristics. Then you have hundreds of chunks of 128*32*32 (which is about 131072 blocks) each needing rendering. Then you're simply going to add a bunch of human-controlled characters into this world and allow them to start moving and creating stuff around - and you want this all to work on a piece of shit computer? Get real expectations please.

Also - why the fuck is the server not back up? This is serious fail.

Actually, my Minecraft's memory usage once shot to ~937 MBs...

Ctrl+Alt+Del and look at the top of the "processes" tab. You'll see a number around 300,000 if you just started MC, and if you've been playing for, say, 20 minutes, it should be around 900,000. That's the RAM usage in KB. Take that number, and divide by 1024 twice (1024 KB = 1 MB, 1024 MB = 1 GB). Highest I've gotten was roughly 1.1 GB before it decided to crash.

EDIT: I just got a decently nice idea for my PvP arena :awesome:

Alright, since Lingie and Riney don't want to host because of their internet, I've taken over. Currently figuring out how well the server runs, but I'm AFK. Information is poison4200.dyndns.org:1337, and it's currently just a basic world. Don't expect to have too much, because we will hopefully be bringing the old world from DM's server onto mine shortly.

You build stuff. Anything you want really. You just have to use your imagination and, as Yahtzee says, set some goals for yourself on what to build.

As for the requirements, it's running smooth most of the time on my crappy laptop (3GB RAM, 2GHz dual core).

About 50MB + minimum 3MB for each singleplayer world save you create. The saves become bigger the more you explore as more data is generated.
