First game in a looong time. Think I did pretty good
I bought Nocturnal for the hell of it, and I can't tell if he needs to be nerfed or buffed. At 400 AD and a ton of crit, I was hitting for 1000 crits with the occasional 1400 in there. His abilities don't seem to scale much off AD or at least it seems like he relies more on actual attacks than his abilities (as one gets him closer to an enemy, another stuns the enemy, and a third shields him when that goes wrong and he has to retreat). Early game he is a beast, and if you jungle with him, he can do some serious gank damage with his teleporting ult. So far I'm more satisfied with him than I was with Jarvan and Maokai, though.

...You shouldn't be saving his abilities to run. Granted, they can be used to run with, but meh.
Q=movespeed and attack damage boost. This is more useful for hitting champs in a teamfight, and then chasing down stragglers, because its CD is short enough to allow you to cast it once at the beginning and once at the end of or just after the fight.
W=passive with an active ability shield, like Sivir's, except instead of refunding mana it doubles the passive's attack speed boost. Useful when you know you're going to get hit with a spell, and because it has a slight cast time it's not really good to try to run with, especially if you're low enough to try to rely on it anyways.
E=DoT + fear. GREAT for denying a champ with a channel ult, such as Nunu, Karthus, or Kat, because they might not even notice it's on them until they get feared.
R=4 second removal of enemy's allied vision, and a jump while vision is removed. TERRIBLE for trying to escape with, because if the enemy is chasing you, that means they can get you anyways. Also, since it only removes allied vision, not a player's individual vision, they can still see you if you're in range, and if you weren't, why bother using it? It's a great ganking tool--I got raped a couple times because it still teleports even if you blocked it with banshees/your shield. It's also great if a certain pew pew asshat stands too far back.
In the right/fed hands, Nocturne is pretty damn good. Only thing is, early game if he gets shut down, he will be nearly useless late game. This means Riot will either nerf him because too many people are bitching about his ult, or they will buff him because of his early game. He's going to end up being either absolutely useless, or one of the late, great OP champs (like Jarvan)

When did I say anything about saving his abilities to run...? I said that they help you advance to an enemy and keep the enemy near you to pound them with regular attacks. The only time I mention running away was my joke about having to retreat with the Sivir bubble.

You made it sound like his abilities are only good to get him closer to enemies and his auto-attacks were all he's really got in-combat. Which is really true...

I do feel like they're mostly used to get him closer, though (especially since his stun only works if you remain in range), but my main point was that since he relies mostly on regular attack swings, then perhaps his abilities should be buffed to include more of his AD.

I wonder when Riot will decide to stop making new champions every other week.

EDIT: After playing with the best nocturne I have seen so far, tank nocturne > dps nocturne. He had frozen mallet, boots of swiftness, brutalizer, and then like randiums or something and he dealt insane damage and had insane survivability. Initiating fights by ulting in to the squishy (Me, hehe) and then owning them with his high base damages. And then the only people who could focus him were the people who could see him in their own vision.
Tank builds > Any other builds. For almost any champ.

For some reason every game I have a Nocturne in, it seems like the fucker cannot be damaged... also, it seems like there is a bug on him when it comes to Cho's Q. I've hit him multiple times with it and it does nothing. I don't know what the CD on his little shield is, but it can't possibly be short enough to be used against every single Q.

I utterly rape this kid. But I want to play him since he seems like a more imbalanced Sand Wraith from HoN.

Jarvan is the most imbalanced champ that Riot won't ever touch. He's like Xin, only you have no hope of running from him, whereas with Xin you at least have a chance.
