So I noticed in the Aiur Chef map, when you pick up an item, the mouse cursor changes to let you know you picked the item up in your inventory. How do you do this?

I'm at work and can't check it myself, but aren't you able to open the Aiur Chef map and look? Figuring out where to look is another thing entirely, but still.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
Aiur chef's inventory is the real inventory. It was just modified with sc2Layout file.
Unfortunately we can't use that effect with triggers...
