:payne:

Could you try to fix the fact that from times to times, a forum appears as unread even though you've read all threads? :)

Hello

Skin plays no rule on that but ewww... it's hard to analize because you would need to shut SEN down except for 2 peoples to be able to absolutely filter everything out which does not affect that bug.

Shut SEN for the whole day and bring it back compeltely bug-free and I think it'll be a great deal everyone will be happy with. :awesome:

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

Looks to me as if SEN was down.

Also, unrelated:
Earlier today I had bad BBcode that caused the entire post to die. Literally, nothing in the post. It can be found at: Well, nevermind, just remembered Farty deleted it. Well nevermind, he just shouted the link. But basically it was caused by this:

Code

When the correct code was:

Version 6 and version 5 folder cache mismatch. System policy was: Use version 6 data if available. (Everything should have worked fine.)
I'm still getting that every time I check the Message Center after receiving notifications. I thought it was supposed to be a one-time error?

The bug relating to notices of all kinds not disappearing should be fixed.

If you see a warning box talking about a mismatch between v5 and v6 data sets, this is to be expected. Essentially, this means IP fucked something up, and I tried to apply a bootstrap solution. If you see the warning and everything works, ignore it. If you see the warning and something isn't working, then let me know.

Report any further bugs here.

It doesn't sound like a one-time thing, just a conflict in code. DTBK said that he could remove the warning, but it's part of a system that has useful messages as well, or something along those lines.

Edit:

Quote from Shoutbox
[2011-1-25. : 6:05 pm] DT_Battlekruser -- I can't actually fix the mismatch without tearing out IP's kernel and fixing the whole thing
[2011-1-25. : 6:05 pm] DT_Battlekruser -- the problem is that it's a very generic caching function, and I want that warning to warn me of other potential problems
[2011-1-25. : 6:04 pm] DT_Battlekruser -- the warning is intentional, but it should only be a warning and it should still work.
[2011-1-25. : 6:00 pm] DT_Battlekruser -- might be fixed now? hard to tell with all of IP's stupidness..

It seems like marking forums as read isn't working properly. I hit "mark all forums as read" or an individual forum, and upon refreshing, it is marked as unread again.

This is a very recent/new problem I've noticed.

I've noticed this same thing just this afternoon.

EDIT
Now it isn't taking me to most recent post for some topics. Weird.

Woah

I still get taken to recent posts in topics. I can't tell if Devourer is changing things or if it just randomly broke (though I'm going to assume the latter isn't likely).

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.
[06:26 am]
NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

NudeRaider -- Symmetry
Symmetry shouted: Ohhh imagine a SC map that could delete itself
not the map, the editor
[02:28 am]
Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

NudeRaider -- Symmetry
Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.
[2026-7-15. : 4:10 am]
Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
[2026-7-15. : 2:19 am]
Symmetry -- NudeRaider
NudeRaider shouted: Symmetry I can't tell if it's relevant. You provided literally no context so I was providing an equally generic answer.
Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
